Transitainer: Not your ordinary freight forwarder

Transitainer: Not your ordinary freight forwarder

A vital yet often under-recognised part of the logistics industry, freight forwarding serves as a comprehensive one-stop solution for businesses moving goods efficiently from A to B.

Transitainer has been servicing Australia’s freight needs since 2009, consistently proving that success isn’t just about meeting deadlines — it’s about building meaningful, lasting relationships with clients.

We were lucky enough to speak to Kelly Crossley (Trigwell), co-founder of Transitainer, about her experiences since founding the business and her work today.

In an industry driven by efficiency, Transitainer stands at the heart of Western Australia’s freight forwarding sector. Unlike many firms, Transitainer holds its own customs license, streamlining the process and enabling in-house advice around customs and quarantine-related matters.

According to co-founder Kelly Crossley, Transitainer differs from other businesses in freight forwarding as they hold their own customs licence, which streamlines the time it takes for customers to receive their goods.

“We are a one-stop shop for freight forwarding, specialising in shipping, customs, and delivery – for both businesses and individuals,” said Ms Crossley.

“On a global scale, freight forwarding is often dominated by multinational companies, but at Transitainer, our business is centred around care. The reason we have been successful is because of that. All clients are treated with the highest level of attention, and our hands-on approach means we provide constant updates about their orders and timings.”

With over 60 years of combined experience among its directors, Transitainer guarantees expert advice and solutions for every client.

“Our team is passionate about what they do, providing not only expert advice but also sustainable solutions. We are proactive in understanding our clients’ needs and presenting the best options for their business,” Ms Crossley explained.

“We also maintain strong international partnerships to ensure seamless service worldwide.

“My father was involved in logistics, so naturally I fell into freight forwarding and worked at a firm for 11 years. I decided that it wasn’t the place for me, so I thought, why not go out on my own and start my own business? In 2009, my business partner and I decided to give it a go, and 16 years later we’re still going, and it’s been amazing.”

When Kelly was getting into business and needed support around financial management, she reached out to the team at Nexia to optimise the company’s performance and ensure the best advice for the Transitainer team.

“Nexia has been an integral part of streamlining our business and ensuring everything meets the highest standards. Wendy and Rebecca have been fantastic in their support – they’ve become part of my advisory Board. It makes it a lot less stressful having this in their capable hands,” Ms Crossley said.

“I can’t speak more highly of the service Nexia has provided, ensuring our finances are managed to the highest level, so we can focus on what we do best, forwarding freight to our loyal customers.”
